Craigslist Charisma

Who knew an apartment could have charisma? Charm, perhaps. But charisma?!

A $2.1 million dollar Harlem apartment is being advertised as a "Charismatic Four Story Townhouse" on Craigslist. Take a look. I've never seen real estate described this way.

Is "charisma" the new "quaint?"

my favorite line:
"The house will be Delivered Vacant"
How else are houses delivered!!BTW- have you found any good bagel spots in Harlem yet that you'd recommend? I'm dying to try a good NY bagel(I hear they're good).

nah.
Quaint means small but with character while I think "charisma" in this context means something more like big and impressive but with character. Maybe they got sick of using other "cha" words in all their ads and decided to diversify.

And
"How else are houses delivered!"
Townhouses are often delivered with tenants. This is a huge concern for potential buyers because the tenants may be rent stabilized or controlled and so limit the rights of the landlord to raise the rent or kick them out.

anonymous: charisma is used to refer to a person. A charismatic leader; a charismatic politician.

Charm may be used to describe inanimate objects, as well.

I believe that was the whole point of the post.

Good one, bagel!
